Perry L. Kamel M.D.
Perry L. Kamel, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and is Board Certified in Gastroenterology as well as Internal Medicine. While living in New York City, Dr. Kamel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia College of Columbia University and attended Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Kamel moved to Chicago to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was recognized as the outstanding member of his intern class with the Walter A. Rambach Award. After completing his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Chicago, Dr. Kamel returned to Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation where he conducted research in Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and its association with laryngeal symptoms and was an attending physician on the Gastroenterology Service.
In 1997, Dr. Kamel established his solo gastroenterology practice with the goal of providing the highest level of medical attention with one on one individualized care and the personal approach of a small office. Dr. Kamel has over 25 years of experience treating patients with gastroenterology needs, such as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Colon Cancer Screening. Dr. Kamel helped to establish a community outreach program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital which provides colon cancer screening for uninsured patients.
